Behind Every American Farm Family is the Backbone
of the Operation: The American Farm Mom
In the spring of 2010, Monsanto gave people across the U.S. the opportunity to honor the American farm mom’s contributions with the America’s Farmers Mom of the Year 2010 Contest.
Nominators told us in 300 words or less how their favorite farm mom embodied the caring, values and hard work that make up the family farm way of life.
Five regional winners – who were selected by American Agri-Women, a national coalition of women’s farm, ranch and agribusiness organizations – received $5,000 each. The national winner, who was announced in time for Mother’s Day, received an additional $2,500.
