Monsanto honored as one of CIO Magazine’s CIO 100
The CIO 100 identifies and honors 100 organizations that have distinguished themselves by creating business value through the effective and innovative use of IT. Monsanto IT was honored for developing new processes and online tools for the launch of the company’s Acceleron seed treatment product. (June 2010)

Monsanto earns top spot among large science companies in The Scientist Best Places to Work in industry survey
Monsanto earned the no. 5 spot in the overall ranking of the list of large companies in the 2010 Best Places to Work in the industry survey by The Scientist magazine. The survey ranks companies based on a range of attributes. Monsanto was recognized for giving back to the farming community and taking care of its employees with benefits such as shuttle service and on-site daycare

Monsanto Ranks 28th on the 2010 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity List
Monsanto has been named to The 2010 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list for its demonstrated use of measurable diversity best practices and results.  A total of 449 companies participated this year, up 12 percent from last year. Ranked No. 28, Monsanto has demonstrated strength in the four areas measures – CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications and supplier diversity. (March 2010)

MONSANTO NAMED ONE OF CR MAGAZINE’S “100 BEST CORPORATE CITIZENS”
For the third year in a row, Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) was named today to Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine’s list of “100 Best Corporate Citizens” for 2010. Monsanto ranks No. 31 overall and leads the agricultural products sector on the magazine’s 11th annual ranking of corporate responsibility performance of major U.S. companies. (March 2010)

Professional WOMAN’S Magazine names Monsanto as one of the Top Diversity Employers for Women.

Minority Engineer Magazine ranks Monsanto #28 on 2010 list of the Top 50 Employers.
Readers of Minority Engineer were asked to name the employers, both private and public sectors, for whom they would most like to work or that they believe would provide a positive working environment for members of a minority groups. (February 2010)

FORTUNE names Monsanto to its 2010 list of “The 100 Best Companies to Work For.”
Monsanto ranked 59th overall and 22nd among the largest companies named to the list. (January 2010)

Monsanto Named Company of the Year by Forbes Magazine
On December 31, 2009, Forbes Magazine named Monsanto its Company of the Year for 2009. The magazine praised Monsanto's economic success and innovative new products, referring to the company as an "economic winner."

Monsanto Receives 100 % on Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, rates businesses on a scale from 0 to 100 percent on best practices for LGBT workplace policies and benefits in the 2010 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) report. In 2010 Monsanto received a score of 100 percent on the CEI report. The previous year Monsanto had received a score of 85 percent and in an effort to improve the score Monsanto made updates around gender identity and gender expression terminology in the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy. This policy was signed by CEO Hugh Grant in 2009 and led to the 2010 CEI score of 100 percent.

Monsanto ranked #29 in the 17th Annual “Top 50 Employers” in Equal Opportunity Magazine.

The readers of Equal Opportunity magazine selected the top companies in the country for which they would most prefer to work or believe are progressive in hiring members of minority groups.

Science Magazine ranks Monsanto as the #4 Worldwide Biotech/Pharma Employer

BDPA (Black Data Processing Associates) recognizes Monsanto as one of the Best Companies for Blacks in Technology.
BDPA looks at Fortune 1000 companies and makes an assessment based on, in part, the categories of demographics, diversity programs and community outreach. (July 2009)

Monsanto Once Again Claims a Spot on ComputerWorld’s Top 100
Places to Work in IT

For the fifth year in a row Monsanto earned a spot on ComputerWorld’s list of the 100 best places in the US to work in IT, moving up eight positions in the rankings, from No. 13 in 2008 to No. 5 in 2009. Monsanto’s ranking was based on providing part-time telecommuting and flex schedules for employees. Additionally, ComputerWorld 100 also recognized Monsanto as No. 1 in Training. (June 2009)


Monsanto IT Named one of CIO Magazine's CIO 100
Monsanto has received accolades as one of CIO Magazine’s CIO 100. According to CIO Magazine, the CIO 100“identifies and honors 100 organizations that have distinguished themselves by creating business value through the effective and innovative use of IT.” Monsanto was recognized for the outstanding support offered by IT to the company’s R&D division, which enhanced the capabilities of Monsanto’s global research groups to meet the increased demand for new biotechnology products. Monsanto No. 20 on Best Corporate Citizens List
Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine released their 10th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens list. Monsanto leaped in the rankings, from No. 88 in 2008, to No. 20 in 2009. Monsanto was the only St. Louis company to make the list. Monsanto improved its score this year in five of the seven evaluation criteria: employee relations; environment; financial; human rights; and philanthropy. The other two categories were climate change and governance.

"In tough times, strong reputations and transparency pack as much punch as a strong balance sheet. In today’s deep recession, human capital and financial capital seek safety—and companies on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list are today’s safest harbors," Jay Whitehead, CRO Magazine publisher, said.


Science Magazine Ranks Monsanto Number 2 Biotech Employer Worldwide
Monsanto is earning recognition as a leader in biotechnology not just for its ground-breaking products but also for being a great place to work. Monsanto took second place in the 2008 Top Biotech and Pharma Employers list by Science, a leading industry publication. The company moved up six spots from No. 8 in 2007. The annual Web-based survey rates companies around the world in 23 categories. The top driver in the survey was being an innovative leader in the industry, followed by quality of top management, and loyal employees. Read the Monsanto news release here.

Information Week Ranks Monsanto in Top 100 Companies
Monsanto was ranked in the top 100, our best ranking yet, by the InformationWeek 500.  The InformationWeek 500 has established a tradition over the last 20 years of identifying and recognizing companies leveraging technology in innovative ways to improve the business. According to Information Week, “For the 19,000 Monsanto scientists and employees spread across 63 countries, the watchword is collaboration.” The award recognizes Monsanto’s focus on teamwork and collaboration efforts and IT’s work on unified communications, instant messaging, and Enterprise 2.0-rich collaboration tools.


Working Mother Name Monsanto in 100 Best for 2008
Monsanto was selected for the award based on an application with more than 500 questions dealing with workforce, compensation, child care, flexibility programs, leave policies and more. It also checked usage, availability and tracking of programs, as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them. Seven areas were measured and scored: workforce profile, compensation, child care, flexibility, time off and leaves, family-friendly programs and company culture. Monsanto wins Stevie Award for Most Innovative Company
Monsanto is proud to be named the American Business Awards “Stevie Award” winner for “Most Innovative Company” in the more than 2,500 employees category for 2008. Stevies were created to honor and generate public recognition around the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people globally. The ABAs are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. They recognize the achievements of companies—for-profit or non-profit—and are based on the nominated company's accomplishments. This year's Stevies focused on green business initiatives.

Monsanto Again Among 100 Best Places for IT Workers by Computerworld.
For the third year in a row, Monsanto was selected as one of the top 100 environments for technology professionals, based on employee surveys regarding benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. Monsanto Makes DiversityInc's "2008 Top Companies for Diversity" List
Monsanto ranked No. 25 on DiversityInc’s 2008 “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” list. DiversityInc is a print and online news source that covers corporate diversity. This is the first time Monsanto has made the list, and it was the only St. Louis-based company recognized. Monsanto received high marks for human capital, and corporate and organizational communications. DiversityInc cited Monsanto's employee-resource groups, which are funded by the company and meet during the workday.

Computerworld Ranks Monsanto Top Green IT Company
Monsanto has been ranked as one of 12 green IT companies in IDG’s Computerworld top Green-IT Companies for 2008. Computerworld recognized Monsanto, the only agriculture company on the list, for working to reduce energy consumption in IT equipment and using technology to conserve energy and lower carbon emissions. This honor is part of Computerworld's first Top Green-IT Companies feature.

Monsanto Makes InfoWorld 100 List for 2007
Every year, InfoWorld celebrates 100 IT organizations that have made the best use of technology in pursuit of business goals. Monsanto's winning project, the Go Ag supply-chain system, fine tuned purchasing data earlier than had the company's previous architecture. (Nov. 2007)

America's SAP User Group Awards Monsanto IT with a 2007 Impact Award
This award is ASUG's highest honor for companies that have generated significant business value and results through the implementation of SAP. Impact award submissions are evaluated on a series of criteria including ROI, strategic alignment to goals met, SAP product scope utilized, best practices developed, service improvements demonstrated and the degree of innovation reflected in their approach.

Wired Magazine Chooses Monsanto as One of the Most Innovative Companies in the World
"They're masters of innovation and technology, global thinkers that dominate their industries and point the way to the future." Monsanto makes number #21 this year (up from #25 in 2006), listed for its focus on innovative new products such as trans-fat-free soybeans and drought-tolerant corn. Monsanto is also featured for leading the way in Green Power with our corn bioengineered for ethanol. (March 2007)

St. Louis Magazine Notes Monsanto's Strong Employee Benefits Program.
Compared with 25 other biggest and best-known St. Louis-based companies, this popular local lifestyle magazine found Monsanto was notable for our generous vacation benefits (including being the only company to offer summer hours plan), our licensed on-site daycare facility, our family-friendly adoption assistance program, and the high number of employees who have been with us for at least 20 years. Monsanto Argentina Wins Best Company 2008 in Fortuna Awards
Fortuna magazine has recognized Monsanto for two awards as part of their annual Fortuna Awards which rewards the most outstanding business companies in Argentina. Monsanto was the winner of Best Agricultural Company and the Best Company 2008. As part of being recognized as the Best Company 2008 Monsanto has received the Fortuna de Oro (Gold Fortuna) award. Winners are selected for several categories of the Fortuna Awards and the Fortuna de Oro is awarded to a company voted best of the category winners.

Canada's Top 100 Employers 2009

Monsanto Canada Again Named in Maclean’s Survey of Top 100
Canadian Employers

For the second consecutive year, Monsanto Canada has been selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers by MacLean's magazine in its annual survey of Canadian businesses. The Maclean's listing appears in a special edition of the magazine. Canada's Top 100 Employers designation recognizes the Canadian employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. The MacLean's listing ranks employers based on a nation-wide survey, an extensive application process and analysis of compensation levels, work/life balance, training opportunities, workplace facilities and company benefits.

Monsanto Recognized as a Top Employer in Argentina
Revista Apertura magazine has named Monsanto Argentina the 5th best place to work in 2007. The complete list includes the top 20 companies with 200 to 1,000 employees. More than 160 businesses in Argentina participated. Companies were judged by their HR policies such as professional career, salaries, work environment, time schedule and work conditions, and training. Revista Apertura is an Argentine monthly magazine specializing in economic, financial, academic and other business-related issues.

Monsanto Named One of Best Companies to Work in Brazil – Eight Times in a Row
Great Place to Work® Institute has again named Monsanto Brazil one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Brazil. Among the factors cited for the selection were the benefits of teamwork, the commitment to social responsibility, support for community outreach projects, and the involvement in programs aimed at improving the quality of life of employees. Monsanto was also one of three companies cited as a place where employees feel proud to work. The survey also indicated that Monsanto is the 14th most sought company to work for in Brazil. Monsanto India Named One of the Best Employers in India
Hewitt Associates has named Monsanto India as one of the top 25 employers in the country for 2007. This award recognizes the leading organizations that achieve a competitive advantage through their people and are outstanding places to work.

Monsanto Mexico Recognized as Best Place to Work
In its first year of participation, Monsanto Mexico was selected among the 60 Best Places to Work in Mexico. Sponsored by the Great Place to Work Institute Mexico and Expansion magazine. Monsanto employees reported a high sense of pride for the work they do, their teams and their company. (May 2006)
