This growing season many farmers across the Midwestern U.S. saw excellent performance and strong harvest results from their Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans.
While farmers were experiencing success on their farms with the 2009 Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield products, Monsanto was excited to see the performance of the Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield Class of 2010 in fields across the country. The class of 2010 will bring farmers an expanded number of high-performing products in wider geographies.
"Performance varies by a number of factors including field and location," Aaron Robinson, Monsanto soybean traits technical manager, said. "No single technology wins every time, but Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield is putting up impressive wins, which translate to great opportunity for farmers."
"We have learned a great deal from [the 2009] limited commercial release and have made advances to enhance our current Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield products to provide the best products in 2010," Robinson said. "We have a broad portfolio of Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield varieties that have out-yielded Roundup Ready® soybeans in more than 70 percent of comparisons.”
Monsanto's Class of 2010 Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield products are demonstrating impressive performance. These 2010 products out-yielded national competitive Roundup Ready® soybeans by an average of 9.4 percent, or 4.7 bushels per acre.

Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield Soybeans will serve as the base platform for Monsanto's introduction of future soybean trait technologies, including dicamba-tolerant soybeans, enhanced-oil products and additional yield traits.
